Recently the Shire of Kent along with the Shire's of Broomehill, Gnowangerup, Tambellup and Kojonup were successful in receiving a $150,000 grant from the Department of Sport and Recreation to fund the appointment of a Sport and Recreation Club Development Officer for a three year period.

The role of this officer is to help sport and recreation clubs become better managed, more sustainable and provide better quality services to their members and participants.
