The Shire has its BPOINT service operational. To make payments you have the option of telephone payment or internet payment. The bill payment details are as follows:

Alternative Arrangements

Ratepayers experiencing difficulty in payment of their rates and charges are invited to contact Peter Bentley or Michelle Bamess at the Shire Office on (08) 9829 1051 to discuss alternative arrangements prior to the due date.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Option 1

Payment in full by ONE installment only, payment is to be received by 4.30pm Friday 22 September 2017.

Option 2

Payment by TWO  Installments only

 A $15.00 administration fee is applicable.

Option 3

Payment by FOUR  Installments only

 A $30.00 administration fee is applicable.

 Interest on Installments

A charge of 5.5% per annum, calculated daily at 0.01507% will apply to assessments where the owner has elected to pay rates and service charges by installment.

Late Payment Penalty – Rates and Rubbish Charges

A charge of 11.0% per annum, calculated daily at 0.03014% by simple interest will apply as follows:

If NO installment option taken

Interest shall begin to accrue on rates and/or rubbish charges that remain unpaid after 22 September 2017.  Eligible pensioners are exempt.

Option 2 or 3 installment options taken

Interest shall begin to accrue daily on any rates/rubbish installments payments that remain unpaid after 22 September 2017, and continue to accrue until such time as the installment is paid.  Eligible pensioners are exempt.

Interest on Rates and/or Rubbish Charges Arrears will accrue on a daily basis until the arrears are paid.

PENSIONER/SENIOR REBATES AND DEFERMENTS

To qualify for a rebate you must:

  1. Own and occupy your house as at 1 July each year, and;
  2. Be in receipt of a current:

a) Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) issued by Centrelink/Veterans Affairs; OR

b) WA Seniors Card (SC) issued by the Office of Seniors Affairs AND a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (CSHC); OR

c) WA Seniors Card (SC); OR

d) State Concession Card (SCC)

Should you meet the eligibility criteria listed above you can now register by visiting http://www.watercorporation.com.au the rebate is calculated from the date that you register with the Water Corporation.

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP

Under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995, notice must be given in writing to the Council within 21 days of rateable property being sold or disposed of. Details of land description and name and address of the new owner must be provided. Proof of new ownership may be required by the Council, prior to its recording being altered.
