For the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 18 June 2025, it was not possible for a recording of the meeting to be made by means of the local government’s recording technology. The platform that the Shire of Kent uses to record meetings is web based, and the Shire’s cyber security programs prevented access to the site as it falsely identified it as a trojan site. Overrides were not possible as IT Support was not immediately available at the time of the issue.

No improvised recording was made of the meeting as it was not reasonably practicable for the local government to make an improvised recording. Previous testing of using a mobile phone to record the meeting in the Council Chambers has showed that using such a method would not satisfy the quality requirements outlined in regulation 14I(2)(c) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.
